Tax by Mail / Tax by Fax

Tax by Mail / Tax by Fax

Life changes, families move, schedules get busier, and health issues can make traveling difficult.  That is why we are making it as easy as possible to get your tax information completed with the least amount of time and traveling.

Many of our clients have used Tax-by-Mail / Tax-by-Fax for years. It has been a great solution for...

Clients who have moved away and wish to stay with the tax professional they trust.
Friends and family of clients who live out of town.
Persons with health conditions which make traveling difficult.
People with very busy schedules, who cannot get time during appointment hours.

We can do your entire preparation, start to finish, by mail/fax, or you can set up an initial appointment to drop-off and review your information. We will call with additional questions and review, and then mail your completed return to you for e-filing signatures.

How does it work?

If you would like to use the full Tax-by-Mail / Tax-by-Fax service, simply contact us anytime before or during the tax season and tell us you will be mailing or faxing your tax information.

For clients who meet with us in the office, we can mail your completed return to you for e-filing signatures.*

Who is Eligible for Tax-by-Mail?

Current Clients:  Anyone who is currently a client of CAYATAX can take advantage of this great time saver!
First Year Clients:  Most new clients can participate in the Tax-by-Mail/Fax program.  However, for individuals with income from Rental Property (Schedule E),  Farming (Schedule F), or other Self-Employment (Schedule C), we recommend a face-to-face appointment the first year.

All Tax-by-Mail/Fax returns must be RECEIVED by March 31st to be considered for preparation by the April 15th filing deadline**.  Extensions can be filed.

* Returns that are ineligible for electronic filing will need to pre-arrange payment for their return preparation prior to receiving their completed return.  Returns will be prepared to be mailed to the appropriate tax authority.

** Although we make every effort to complete all received returns prior to the April 15th deadline, due to the need for additional information or other factors, we cannot guarantee your return will be completed without an extension. If we will be unable to complete your return by April 15th, you will be notified and an automatic 6-month extension will be filed.  NOTE: an extension does not alleviate any late payment interest or penalties.  The taxpayer will be responsible for all interest and penalties relating to taxes due on an extended return.
